Providence Neuroscience Institute | Technical Writer

I turn complex clinical and research information into clear, accessible content. I collaborate with clinicians to develop manuscripts, proposals, and patient‑facing materials, improving publication output and doubling annual acceptances. I also led the MS Registry’s monthly newsletter and managed parallel deadlines while building relationships that support new research and funding opportunities.

Building a path to publication

When I joined the Providence Neuroscience Institute, I saw an opportunity to bring more clarity and consistency to our manuscript development process. By mapping the workflow and creating practical tools, we strengthened collaboration, improved content quality, and ultimately doubled our annual publication acceptances. This work gave the team a shared language, a clearer path, and the confidence that our research could compete on an international stage.

Crafting a patient-centered newsletter

I partnered with the National African Americans with Multiple Sclerosis Registry (NAAMSR) to create a newsletter that translated emerging MS research for patients. I used the CDC Clear Communication Index to craft content tailored for a patient audience and built accessible layouts and visuals in InDesign and Illustrator. Working closely with MS experts, I designed graphics, managed a tight production schedule, and built simple systems that kept our workflow organized and reliable.
